Hi kcpr-raffaEl,
You could also clean your material editor slots from unused materials and set manual update material preview.

This issue is diferent kind.

Let me describe it:

When I'm in Material Editor and click Texture slot to choose Map type:
OCTANE_Issue_Map_Selection.jpg
Or in Material Editor want to select Material type:
OCTANE_Issue_Material_Selection.jpg
3ds Max hanging up to 20-25 (!!!!) minutes or more.

Depending how many materials/maps are in scene.

Sometimes I have to force shut down 3ds Max and loose all my work.

Please fix this!

Hi haffy,
It could depend on about Textures and/or very heavy HDRIs in the material editor at the same time and/or shared on the network.
Does this issue also happen with local textures or hdri on the scene?
Did you try to "Enable Texture environment Preview" option?

There are no network resources used in the scenes.

No HDRIs, either.

Dear developers!

This issue still exists and it's not adressed!

It affects my workflow really strong, frustration with every project is on daily basis here...

Have to wait for minutes (5-15) to change texture or material type.

This has to be sorted out.
