Or are you enabling the plugin with the 'Switch to Octane' tool, not with the 'Enable Plugin' one ?

Yea Sorry I can't be more help.
Do you have a LocalDB path set in your setup? If not, can you try setting one to see if you get similar results.
My steps...
1. Launch LW
2. Activate Octane with "Switch to Octane" button under Octane Tools tab
3. I see Octane load .rt file from X:\ if it's there...or error if it's not.
Thanks for your help.

But the problem is that you are using the wrong tool to activate the plugin! The 'Switch to Octane' tool only must be used after use the 'Switch to LW' tool

... it is used only in projects that are using both LW and Octane engines in the same scene.
To enable the plugin you must always use the 'Enable Plugin' tool.

ah ha....So would it be good for there to be a check on your end in the code that disallows this function or at minimum switches to the enable plugin if it's never been activated in the first place? That way this wouldn't happen?
Not sure what that would mean on your end. Could be a few lines of "check" code, might be much more. I will give the new method a go and see what my experience becomes. Thanks!

The problem is that I can't check anything before launch the 'Switch to Octane' tool because in fact the plugin is complete disabled at this point. Perhaps I could use a master plugin, I will investigate it.
