Well! This is the error I get when I try to load the ORBX file (just when I click on the text "Load ORBX"):

What's the problem this time?

Hi - are you running the latest version of the plugin? http://render.otoy.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=41&t=42587.

Hi, sorry for reviving this thread. But having the lastest build from the plugin and standalone I'm still not able to open an ocs or orbx file. I always get this message:

Error loading ORBX File <path>. Either zero, or multiple disconnected MEsh nodes were found.

I thought this to be fixed... Do the scenes habe to be specially preparated? Do I have to group or join something beforehand? The rendering of the object works flawlessly when done separately.

I can import obj though, but I want the finished model with all materials on it.

Thanks

Hi - it's exactly as per the error message. You need one Mesh node which is not connected to anything - which is then used as the proxy. So disconnect the Mesh node from the GeometryGroup and it will work.

So easy, thanks!

So this means, that I always have to import the ocs into the standalone first to disconnect the mesh and then resave? Couldn't the plugin handle this by its own or is there a reason for having it this way?

Yes, this could be done - however this is a very new feature, so I wanted to release the most robust solution first, and we can tweak it from here :-)

Ah, I understand. It's a very very cool feature btw, importing .obj files isn't really so much helpful if I can't have the octane materials, so good job for adding ocs/orbx. Of course being able to do it without detour would be very nice, too-

Cheers
