WOW, the last render looks great!
Any chance for getting the scene or at least 'instructions' how to do that?

Yeah, i've attached the content directory.
The fog has been slightly modified since I last posted. I have added a small "wing" to the back of the fake voxel to help with shading, it slightly increased render times but it allows the light to behave more realistically.
I've also included a very simply candle flame set up that i've used before. The candle is similar to the method I used to simulate fog, whereas the fog relied on instancing the candle relies on nodal displacement.
I have an idea (which i'll try soon) where if i align the poly cards to the world vector of the camera position, as opposed to the actual camera position, I could alleviate the stepped layering look.
If you can expand on this idea i'd love to hear about it, I also want to try some of this with realflow particles.
Oh, and i keep getting an error "can't find 0", just hit 'no'.

Thank you very much
But candle flame says it cannot find NodeHandler with name TANL_SplitVector

It seems to work anyway but what is that?

If I had to guess its probably the DP Kit node "split vector". You'll need to download it here

Shoot! I'm wrong, its a trueart node, not DP, my mistake.

Ok, nevermind, I don't need the candle (and as I said it works at least somehow without it), I needed the basic idea and for that the fog scene is great
I tried to tweak the object shape to get rid of those 'lines' on the outer parts but so far no luck. They probably come from the square shape but even with ball there are some oddities where the particles are not so crowded but the idea is great!
Thank you again!

You will need the node in order for the animation on the flame and smoke to work. It should wiggle upwards like a candle flame.

Ok, that's what I thought, without it the flame is a bit stiff
