I'm with Glimps, most likely it's the PSU doing this.
In my experience, a boom, PC is off situation is usually the PSU tripping. Either overloaded or some other self protection feature like it has detected a short (probably effectively the same thing).

I once had this problem (boom, off) by too much dust on outgoing of PSU.
Maybe check your airflow on the PSU.

1. What is your PSU nominal power? 800W ?1000W?... Is it high end power supply? Voltage stability might be an issue.

2. As stated - clean up your case and psu - be careful with cleaning psu (if compressed air is used, always remove psu out of a case while deep cleaning).

3. Might be also good to apply new HQ thermal compound on cpu, gpus (NTH1 may reduce temps even 5C)

4. Do you overclock your cpu? Try to reset default bios settings. What are the voltages of cpu and gpu?

if it takes 30 minutes to turn it back on I suspect it's the PSU, had a similar issue recently, also try hwmonitor http://www.cpuid.com/softwares/hwmonitor.html from the cpuid company, I usually use that one, shows all temps..

- a huge fan above the graphic cards helps plenty, and an open case, my stuff overheats with no case, and just need that extra fan as well, check if you have a lot of dust inside you psu or gpus..
