If you look at these two images you will see the only thing that has changed is the gate is turned on.

Based on the aspects matching this should not cause the camera to change like it has.

I have to finish rendering this up if I can this weekend. I could go back to 4.0 or is there a close release that may fix the cam problem.

Thanks mate

Any word on this Jim Star
Is there something you can tell me about what you did to the camera settings maybe I can reverse them so my frames match up.

Thanks

Peter

Sorry, so far I don't see here any problems. Moreover, I see the problems in previous versions where Octane's camera FOV was calculating wrong in some cases. Now this issue is fixed, and yes - it can now look differently on your previous scenes. But now - it looks how it must be.
Now it renders the resolution gate which is fit into film gate according to currently set "Fit Resolution Gate" setting. If you have the same aspect ratio in both - it is the same as if you render the film gate. The FOV of Octane camera is calculated from focal length and film size set in Maya's camera settings. No matter what size and aspect your current viewport is.
Perhaps later I will spend some time to make live preview right inside viewport, but at this time I have a lot of others more important things to do..;)
