Ok,
I am not sure if this will work, but I saved the SSS Shader I used above in a DUF File.
Unzip the DUF File
Load the DUF file after opening DAZ
You should see one unused material in your material list.

There are two nodes in the Shader that will need to be edited. The top is the diffuse Texture, the bottom is the bump texture. If you want you can also activate templating on those two nodes
Please let me now if it works for you

great

i'm also pretty keen to see this work, as exchanging octane mat setups via shader/material/character/property .duf is a major thing for the plugin.
notes: if you haven't the map in your runtime when loading this .duf, ds oc course warns about that - the oc mat should work though (hopefully)...

A propos LiveDB and cool materials: Do people even upload? I don't think I ever saw a new material really in the time I own Octane. Or are materials secrets of the trade and nnobody shares?

one reason why there is a little lack in updates lately might be, that more and more ppl are using plugins for main work, and you currently can't upload materials out of plugins. this plus missing export/import abilities for single materials...

Thanks. Loading the .duf works perfectly
Is the material selector extremely choppy for everyone else while dragging things around? I have the render window closed and notheing else running, but the mouse cursor can hardly move.

one thing: you apparently have saved it as empty scene? strangely when opening it via the content browser, studio doesn't merge but replace the current scene, um.
anyway, another method to get it back into other scenes just easier is to use a material or shader preset when saving; just tick any daz surface/mat that has this particular octane mat applied when saving as material .duf preset, or select the particular surface (you can do this also in the octane viewport using the mat selector tool), before saving into a single shader preset...
[edit] this is what makes me tired from time to time; the standard call sequence when a scene is loaded (not merged) is clear start > clear end > load start > load end. in this case (loading the .duf through the content browser) studio sends load start > clear start > clear end > load end. just i can't easily reset the octane scene when already loading new stuff; i like...

Just wanted to post a THANKS for the sample .duf, it loads perfectly and helps to explain what I was originally looking for.
There is quite a bit of lag when dealing with this particular material, as stated in the previous post. Navigating around (for example, trying to drag the sss material onto one in the scene on the NGE) is, chunky. I'm wondering if it has something to do with the preview?

I will add a new DUF File this weekend with multiple SSS Setups which can then be saved in your presets. Perhaps even make a new topic which can be stickied.
In regards to the lag. Yes, I have found that this happens sometimes when I apply a material to a surface. However the lag should disapear one the material is applied to the first surface.
BTW, the material I uploaded can be easuily customized to fit your skin type. There is a Multiply node in the diffuse channel that regulates the skin tone. By adjusting that node you can change the overall skin tone

Hm .. I find it sad that LiveDB is living such a shadowy life. It's a great idea, and if what you describe is causing real showstoppers, then I suggest fixing those? A solid Material DB would just rock (or glass or metal shine ..

).

Why is that? Technical problem?

You mean export into a file? In Octane I guess you can just modify anything imported from livedb and upload it? I never tried, though.
