I agree the procedural textures are next to useless at the moment. They need to use a unit measurement for scale. What on earth is 100% anyway? 100% of the largest object in the scene?
I've hit the limit of the software quite quickly when texturing, no real layering of textures, independant scales, etc. I'm sure it will get there though.
