Hi there Paul. I see that when i export a material preset for V4 and import it again I lose all the custom bump strengths, they default back to .05. is there a way i can have it stay at the amounts I prefer. since it takes quite some time changing all of it again.
If you import RETAINING texturemaps, the retained texturemap bump strength is kept
If you import REPLACING texturemaps, the imported texturemap bump strength is used

Which sounds right to me. Or have I misunderstood your issue?

Yes, It would have been nice to be able to import a material retaining image maps but importing the bump strengths of the exported material. Would save a lot of hasstle, i was looking for the place where the default values lie, like in a Py file somewhere so that I could load make it default, alsmost like what you have for gossy in the Octane defaults. py. But at the end if it was saved with the rest of the custom material settings, it would have been nice.

The custom material settings uses material mix node with A diffuse for material 1 and specular with material 2, they both suppose to have custom bump map settings when i save them which changes back to defaults when i load the material.

Sorry, I'm still not understanding your issue. Terms like "when i load the material" are confusing....since there are many way to load a material :-)

A newly converted skin material will have a bump value of OctaneDefaults.GLOSSY_BUMP_POWER.

Subdivision for Genesis doesn't work at all in this version. (I'm still using Poser Pro 2012)
What does "doesn't work" mean pls? I just checked on my system and everything looked in order. Can you give me more details on the specific issue you are having.

Thanks

Paul

I have updated the installer at the top of this thread. It will be available for download in 30mins.

1.16a2
- Fixed issue where saving an image could hang Poser
- Fixed activation issue (username/password were not being saved)
- Fixed python exception raised after deleting a figure

Hi there Paul. You must excuse my English it is my second language. :) . Ill try and explain my issue in a bit more detail. When I have my V4 character loaded up in poser and I open Octane, Im sitting with the basic node tree. Then I import my Redspec material preset for V4 retaining existing image maps. when I do this, a material like lets say Skin face wil be a material mix setup instead of just glossy. Under Material Mix I have the two materials, material 1 is Diffuse and material 2 Is Specular. Under material 1 and material 2 I add a "Image" instead of "float texture" where I'll choose the lets say v4hiFaceB to create the bump effect. then I fiddle with the Bump settings for each part of V4 like the hands the feet ,legs , torso and so on. then when I have the result I'dd like to have for all my characters in the future, I export the total V4 POC file.

My problem then comes when I want to import that material Preset on my new character retaining existing image maps. the whole node structure loads in well, but all the custom settings under bump is then reverted back to the default settings. so I have to do it all over again.

Now I recon the bump settings are saved for the specific Image preset under bump. because when I imposrt using imported image maps, then everything is copied over with all the custom settings, but my character texture is also replaced with the one from the POC file.

I hope this makes more sense.

I'm new to the Octane Renderer and I really love it so far :) Just want to report that Subdivision for Genesis broke for me also with version 1.16a2. I have both Poser Pro 2012 and Poser Pro 2014 installed on my computer. I'm using Octane plugin 1.11u-6 on PP2012, and with subdivision 2 on a Genesis figure it works fine. I have plugin 1.16a2 installed on PP2014, and with subdivision 2 on a Genesis figure, the subdivision doesn't render.

In addition, with version 1.11u-6 I can switch the UV's on a Genesis Figure with Mec4D's UV Switching Utility, for example from M5 to M4 (to use an M4 texture) and it renders fine. With version 1.16a2 this doesn't work.

I've attached pictures for you to review. In all pictures, M5 is set to subdivision level 2. The first 2 pictures shows the subdivision issue. The second set shows the UV issue. Please let me know if you need any additional info. :)

2 things:
1. the material order e.g. in a V4 is all messed up and
2. "Replace all skin materials of this figure" replaces the textures, too, which is not so good when having different textures (head, torso, limbs) ;)

Hi Paul :)

This is SO embarrassing for me to have to post

OK, so there seems to be a basic user error here maybe?
This version runs on Poser9/PoserPro2012 and Poser10/PoserPro2014, on Windows XP, Vista, 7 and 8.
I am trying to install this update but cant

I cant get the installer to accept my PP2012 dir for installing :(

Could it be the updated installer?:

Or like I said, user error

I have two Licenses, one for desktop and one for laptop.. I face the same problem on both! Octane Render Standalone 1.16 runs fine on both, so I know my graphics cards are supported at least :D

I am having the same issue with: OctaneRender for Poser Setup 1.14a beta.exe AND OctaneRender for Poser Setup 1.16a beta.exe
