As you can see I got un incorrectly installed plugin of 1.11.
Immediately reinstalled 1.02b and that was OK again.

Hi Paul,
the special characters problem is still there. It seams now that the reference File paths are changed when there are special characters in the filename.

Hi Sebastian
Are there any special characters in the directory name?
If you click on the image button, does it take you to the directory that the image is in?

Hi Paul,
yes it does take you to right directory and if you then choose the file it works!
It seams that the special character Files itself are working now, but the Filepath isn't translated correctly during the material conversion.

Hi Sebastian
I fixed an issue where if the special character from in the ArchiCAD Material texture, when converting it caused a problem. I hope this fixes your problem. If not, can you pls post the texturemap into this thread and I'll test it.
You can download the updated version from the link at the top of this thread.
1.11b3
- Fixed issue where ArchiCAD materials with texturemap filenames containing special characters were not converting correctly
- Increased the maximum scene size that can be transferred to Octane (from 3 million triangles to 10 million)

Hi Paul,
Tnx. I have adjusted my trees back to higher resolution,
and now it could load all the vertices
For those who like to know numbers:
It took about 16 seconds to load the scene with 821K polygons.
I used 1167 trees, each 670 polygons: 782K,
so the trees are far out the most poly.
Nothing fancy for rendering, but the trees were supposed to be maquette simplified.
btw: the trees are modules and can be changed to more photorealistic trees easily if wanted.
greetings, Jeroen

An error has been reported regarding a hard-crash of the plugin (see
http://render.otoy.com/forum/viewtopic. ... 4&start=20). I have investigated this issue, and the analysis follows:
The plugin constructs Octane nodes such that all scene geometry is packed into one "mesh" node, with a pin for each material in the scene. The pin names on the mesh node correspond to the ArchiCAD Material names. So an ArchiCAD material "Paint 1" will result in a pin name on the "mesh" node called "Paint 1".
I have put a maximum length of the material pin name at 50 characters. This seemed reasonable, since none of the standard ArchiCAD materials were anywhere close to this limit. However it is possible to create new ArchiCAD materials with names > 50 characters. At the moment, these long material names crash the plugin.
The planned fix for this is that any materials with names > 50 characters will popup a warning message to the user when using the plugin, and that scene will not load into Octane until the user has shortened the ArchiCAD material name to under 50 characters.
If anyone has any objections to this solution, pls let me know how!
Paul

The above solution has now been implemented (ie. limit of 50 characters for Material names).
Pls redownload the installer from the link at the top of this thread.
1.11b4
- Fixed issue where material names > 50 chars long crashes ArchiCAD. The plugin now requires ArchiCAD material names by < 50 characters
- Fixed issue where the wrong default folder was used if you click on the "Image" button when there were special characters in the folder name

Too many materials. This plugin has capacity for
scenes with up to 1000 materials.
Which means, I do not think that there are more than 1000 materials in the file.
someone can give me a solution...........
thanks

I've had a detaied look at this, and I think it is related to an issue other than the number of scene materials for which there is an easy fix. There is a thread for reporting issues at
http://render.otoy.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=56&t=29556. Can you pls post your system details (as requested in the thread) in that thread, and I will rectify the problem.
