A quick update
We are exporting from revit as dwg (select ACIS SOLIDS to make the model more user friendly in SU)
Open in sketchup 6 (SU8 has no support for dwg import), apply simple materials (solid colors) and then use the plugin to export to octane.
In octane apply the materials and have fun.
