Great render, and yeap, SSS is overrated, and you just proved it

Maybe just try simulating the SSS with some subtle texture painting. Looking good.

I'm back with a woman portrait. I have import in first place the woman without hairs to have the ability to change easily the setups.
I have to remove the orange around her eyes , tweak eyes a little and add the hair in the final touch.
My model is a normal woman ... not a bimbo... thanks to your comprehension and forgive her big nose

You might be able to reduce the size of the nose by moving the camera back and using a telephoto lens.
Great image BTW.

Normal is usually better and prettier than that bimbo "perfect" look we are so used to, simmetry and perfection usually fall in the uncanny valley
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Uncanny_valley really fast, at least for me, and your model and texturing look perfect (in an imperfect way) and feel real ! I love it, once you add hair it's going to look terrific.

Thanks Kubo and GeoPappas
@GeoPappas : yep it's true but it's also flatten the perpective. This lens is preset as a studio's camera.

@CaneeleT
Nice picture of skin render!
The only thing is that creeps me out a bit is the bottom-up key light.
One question: how did you make her facial hair? Especially under her chin.
