Dear Octane community,

OTOY's OctaneRender for SketchUp plugin is about to move to the closed beta testing and we are looking for a small group of people to be part of this early beta testing and provide valuable input into bug finding, fixing and feature testing.
If you own (and are familiar with) Trimble SketchUp for 64-bit Windows and are an experienced, licensed, octane user familiar with Octane's features and are interested in getting in on the ground floor to beta test this new and exciting plugin, please post your interest here or send us an email to [email protected]

Here is a video of the alpha plugin:

(NOTE: As with our other beta testing groups you must be willing to sign a Non-Disclosure Agreement)

Yours sincerely,
Octane Render Team
Kind Regards

Octane for Sketchup has always been in Beta! Maybe it always will be. And those like me who believed in it and bought two licenses of Octane Studio + two Plugin licenses for Sketchup now find themselves with a handful of flies and less money, forced to spend more, and there are not a few, in the hope of seeing a plugin that for now has only wasted time and created major work disruptions. If I were you I would have an eye on those who supported you without ever being able to work on it anyway.

Hi ArchMP,

Thank you so much for your feedback.

We apologize if you are encountering issues with this plugin and we totally understand the frustration.
As you already know, this is our first Octane for SketchUp plugin release so some hiccups are expected.

It looks like you may be using an older build, the issues you are experiencing may have been fixed in this beta release.
However, feel free to share those issues so we could resolve them in the later releases.

Could you please reach us out on Zendesk [email protected] to discuss your Studio license?

We are currently working on implementing new features from Standalone 2020.2.1 and there will be a newer build ASAP!

Cheers
Kind Regards

Hey fun to see there is some progress and still intentions on continuing development for this, I have been waiting patiently! Sketchup and octane I feel is such a brilliant combination especially in architectural renders. The plugin I have used aside from some issues here and there, the rendering quality and workflow has been very enjoyable, therefore it has been incredibly frustrating that every time all is lost upon closing of a SketchUp file. I would very much love to try this new beta so do sign me up if im not to late to the party!
