This would make life immeasurably easier. On the same note, a multi-texture node would as well. The current random color/ texture node requires objects to be separated entirely, which is not possible when you have a large scene and thousands of floor boards, tiles, or bricks. 3ds max just crashes. Having an actual multi-texture node would save loads of time. Then we don't have to make a multi-sub-object material with 20+ materials for a basic wood floor or carpet tile floor. Or even worse, a tree with varied leaves.
