It seems to me normal this result, hdri lighting is completely different from the background you are using, the light on the contours is rather logical does not coincide.
If you want to use lighting, reflection and refraction completely different from the background you are using, then it would be advisable to edit it with compositing.
I do not think shadow catcher works with 3dsMax viewport background.
