in the first preview of the upcoming 1.5 version of Octane standalone, we've shown camera path animations exported from a 3D modeling app with the Alembic file format. This preview takes it a step further, showing that Octane is also capable of real-time preview rendering of animated scenes. While this functionality was already present in some plugins, having it in the standalone opens up some interesting possibilities. It will allow for e.g. animaton rendering on a network cluster or on the cloud without requiring the 3D host application and it's also interesting for future animation specific features in the standalone. As mentioned before there's also the possibility to export and exchange animations between the different OctaneRender plugins.
