Yep, that's exactly the issue I had. I didn't realise it required an always-on connection until the worst possible moment, but then I'm told, "hey, don't worry about it, if you give us £50, plus an entire year's subscription cost up front, we can let you use Octane in a way everyone else allows you to use their software".

The irony of it, too. Apparently its to "prevent piracy", yet there is absolutely nothing preventing someone from hacking the dongle hardware and creating a VM copy that keeps Octane activated.

Octane isn't hack proof because of this dumb rule, it's just nobody has bothered to make an effort to crack the software. People really think crackers can hack IOS, DRM, and every other anti-piracy measure, but they're somehow stumped by this? lmao

Problem is that you didn't read before that this software needs VALID INTERNET CONNECTION to work. Even most of the games needs it too and this is described in Eula. You immediately lose multiplayer game after two seconds of internet failure. People know about it because they read requirements - you not.

If you're going to intentionally seek out an argument with a complete stranger online, at least try to do it with some intelligence. You already demonstrated a complete lack of reading comprehension, so please don't pretend that you're capable of reading a EULA or even motivated enough to do so. To read the EULAS of the top 10 apps on your iphone would literally take 65 hours according to the latest research. :lol:

Yes, I read that, it doesn't mean anything. Adobe says the same, so does Cinema 4D, yet both allow limited access in the event of a connection problem. I thought we were discussing the EULA that you definitely read?????? That's what you said, right? My problem was that I'd not read the EULA and you had?

I just searched the TOS, and it doesn't mention the Internet requirement until page NINE, and even then it's ambiguous lmao

"...the Software MAY require internet connectivity at all times
(Customer shall be responsible for all fees and costs associated with internet connectivity)."

You see that bit that says "may". It's not made clear that you absolutely, positively need an always-on Internet connection.

Thanks for posting, though, if you hadn't been looking for an argument, I'd have never looked through the TOS and confirmed that at no point does it actually state that the software will not work in the event that your Internet goes down.
