All,
Has anyone tried to use NeRF's (neural radiance field)?
https://developer.nvidia.com/blog/getting-started-with-nvidia-instant-nerfs/
inside of Octane Standalone. They look to have tremendous promise in creating a 3d context for ArchViz models for instance, they are also looking useful for capturing objects using photography and turning them into textured obj models to populate a library. I have been using an iphone app from LumaLabs to capture and download them. Once created, the phone is somewhat unreliable for the download, but the Luma website works well. https://lumalabs.ai/
They are capable of being exported in .obj, .gltf, .usdz, .ply point clouds and panoramic images. The .obj files don't seem to work inside of Octane, they import but seem to become some cloud like thing. GiTF files import but don't have a geometry out pin, so can't be plugged into a Render Target, fortunately .usdz files work well and are quite small compared to an .obj.
Does anyone know of a workflow to get a point cloud into Octane? I would like to see if that is something that might work.
Any information would be appreciated.
Thx
Mark
