Hi jn,
M1 chip is very promising, but its support is still considered experimental at this stage, and it is still working under Rosetta 2 for plugins on Big Sur and Monterey, at the moment.
For example, AI Denoiser is not supported with M1, and needs to be completely rewritten.
OctaneX is still based on 2020.1.5 SDK, with some addictions, while PC version is at 2021.1 SDK.
We need to wait for the next upcoming 2022.1 SDK, to have an OctaneX version based on the same SDK as CUDA, to have Octanebench supporting both Metal and CUDA, and a native version for M1 Apple Silicon GPUs.
ciao,
Beppe
