First OCTANE BENCHMARKS on GTX 970/980!!!!!!!

Guys,

1. Octane (demo 2.06) works on 970/980 :)
2. These scores are thanks to overclock.net users whom I asked to run the demo scene
viewtopic.php?f=9&t=7144&hilit=submit+performance+for+your+rigs
The thread is available at
http://www.overclock.net/t/1514149/octa ... lease-help

RESULTS - pathtracing, alphashadows off
970: 3.43M/sec (1430mhz core/8224mhz memory)

Hope to get more results soon.

PS.970 performs almost the same as 670 and same as 580 and look at this overclocked clocks!
Price is relatively low 330$ but I expected something more.

What do you think?

EDIT from GoldenTiger (overclock.net)

EDIT:
Direct lighting mode, same speeds/etc. as above alpha shadows disabled...
SCORE/rendering speed: 22.4M/sec
POWER: 70.0% tdp

PMC mode, same speeds/etc. as above...
Gives an error saying (failed).

Going to guess something is wrong with the driver compatibility frown.gif as it is downclocking my memory and the PMC mode is failing outright?

EDIT 2: Power figures edited in (and I had the wrong number for direct lighting, forgot to disable alpha shadows before). PMC mode says "failed" but has no speed figure. At everything default speeds in afterburner (1315mhz boost) it also fails (no speed readout, just shows what it did before changing modes from direct lighting at any given point).

Watch this thread guys: 980 is 2x slower than TITAN.... I hope it is a driver issue. I think we need OTOY help here.

http://www.overclock.net/t/1514149/octa ... t_22877291

980 ( @1500/7800, not confirmed ): 4.5ms/s PMC - this is disaster :o

(my TITAN overclocked to 1200/7000 scores 7.8ms/s on 2.06, not mentioned that it is cool 40C and inaudible - one 560 rad with fans set to 700rpm).

If it was as powerful, or more powerful than a Titan (or even slightly slower), at that price, no one would buy Titans anymore.

GTX 780 6gb is as powerful as TITAN, so 980 should be at least as powerful as 780 and even 10-30% faster, but is almost 2x slower

At least you can pack four of these tight together without worrying about temperatures and power bills... ;)

I don't think so. These overclocked draw even 285 W, not 180 W.

900 seems to be an unwrap
