I'm buying a new computer and need to know if I should go for 1080 or 980ti.

Wondering the same, also for c4d.
I already have one 980ti but want to get another card and are thinking about to get GTX 1080?
What do you guys think? Any suggestions?

Thanks in advance.

I am running C4D with two 1080's - machine cost me quite a bit but I did also invest in watercooling. Previously I was running two 980gti cards in my old machine, and unfortunately one of them went pop. I don't know if this was down to temperature but the cards were regularly running at 65 degrees or more, for long stretches. New system is maintaining a temperature of around 43 degrees which makes me rest a little easier. Previous setup went pop in the middle of a deadline frenzy - hence the purchase of a system which I hope will be fairly bulletproof.
Speeds seem good, and I'm working away happily on things.
From my experience of both, speeds seem similar to 2x 980gti, although hoping that the next update for Pascal architecture will find a nice little boost for my 1080's. No idea whether the mixture of cards will work - sure somebody on here would know that.
Hope that helps!
