USD files to Octane for C4D

Hey all,

I need to import a crowd from Houdini and I have a usda file (calling numerous alembic files). This guy here https://youtu.be/B8xi31CBmIM?t=375 managed to do it super fast and easily in the Octane Standalone version but I can't seem to find a way to open it properly in C4D/Octane. C4D opens the file but all the abc are just null objects (abc files are not imported or referenced).

Is there something I am missing ?

Thanks by advance for any tips, this is getting quite urgent !

Hi,
a workaround could be to load the USD in Standalone, save it as .orbx package, then use the ORBX Loader object in c4doctane to import the scene like a c4d xref.

Great minds think alike, I just tried this an hour ago but the usda file is empty in the standalone version too...

I thought that it was because of a faulty file but the usda works in Nuke, Houdini and even Maya as we tested.

Ok, have you tried with new Standalone 2023.1.1?
viewtopic.php?f=24&t=82700

if it still doesn't work, please report the issue in Standalone discussion, thanks.

ciao,
