For example, I took the longest day in summer for my country, which is Germany. It's the 20th of June. Sun will set at 21:00. So if I put in Long/Lat, GMT offset to 1 its already very dark. But sun should shine fully.
With Nishita daylight model, the sky is even darker.

You can test with your own location. Is there a way I can do a proper light simulation? Attached image shows standard Octane Daylight Model.

Hi mbetke,
I'm looking into, actually, even my local time seems to produce a contradictory outcome. I'm running some tests and will submit the issue to the developers.

Rendering some animations at the moment with heavy scenes. More than 10GB of out of core beside my 24GB GPU mem.
Using OpenImage denoiser which works well with a de-flicker in Dav Vinci Resolve during post.
Mostly it goes nice and smooth. But one scene renders some frames, then has a long hang, renders again some frames quickly, and so on.
Overnight it got worse and the hangs took longer and longer. Like from some minutes up to 45min.
It hangs mostly during "Render passes rendering". I denoise only on completion.

I made a screenshot for render-times. Usually this scene only needs 50 samples and around 10sec per frame.

Some hints for me?

Hi mbetke,

-As this seems to affect only some of your heavy files, I suspect it could come from a memory leak related to a specific feature / object type, like a Volume, some texture compression, a geometry modifier, ..

Some other things to try:
-Make sure Octane Preferences / Trouble Shooting, Enable Extra Log is disabled ..
-Try to reset the preferences : Octane Preferences, Preset menu : Reset Default settings

I could investigate more if you could send me a scene with the issue..

Also, try the latest Alpha 3 - 15.03, it could be better ..
Thanks
