Otoy, please address the issue with 3ds max gradually slowing down. We have to restart it now every 15 min

really every 15 min, I run them for hours tho, I did get some extreme slow down from material editor one time, and a few just standard slow downs I guess..
- what's your workflow, are you using slate or standard? I'm on 2017..

@paride will send the scene when I extract the parts with the issue, it's a huge project..

@paride displacement issue scene - relatively small displacement that is streched a lot and height bumped up, to simulate waves, I did everything I could with geometry lighting and textures what I thought of

Thank God, I thought it was only our office. We're on 6.14 but It's been an issue for a few versions. It's good to know 7.03 hasn't fixed it yet - no need to upgrade from what I can see.

Anyone know the max resolution for an Octane render?

Never mind. 'pretty bloody big' would appear to be the answer.

Only asked as it kept crashing. Think it was something to do with the denoiser as it would only render with this turned off.

Is there a denoiser issue?

Hi Rik,
Ram.
Try increasing render size and monitor your Ram using task manager.

Chhers.

Looks like 16gb isn't really enough. Especially once you turn on denoising.

Worth going to 64gb or is 32 normally enough?

Hi Rik,
64 would be better, but it depends on your need.
