Its looking awesome! Specially for this early state of development.
Btw. what language are you writing this in? C++ or maybe even Python?

i have posted a new video to show some new and improved features. it's a very quick video sorry for that. because i'm still very busy.
we have just some little issues, hovewer i think it works very nicely
Best regards

Hello, Aoktar!
I have a suggestion about some elements of the interface. I propose to add the name of the axes and add to the floating-point - the slider. A floating-point calculation must be in degrees
See attached picture - what do you think is possible to change these at edementy I proposed option. I think it will be more convenient and easier.

this is similar to HPB rotation, also we can put sky tag to a c4d sun light

Oh wow, I find it always very slow and time consuming to program in C++. Impressive that you made such fast progress.
Maybe the C++ SDK has a better usability than I imagined, I kind of ignored it so far even though the performance of a plugin is better of course with C++ than with Python.

looking forward to this release !
to be able to use octane completely independent, from within c4d.
use (render-) instances, have an octane material, having all texture projection (uv, cubic, spherical, etc...) & mixing options...
a cinema4d material to octane material convert function would be great,
and u r a god if you do a vrayforc4d material to octane material convert function, too ;)

C++ that is my natural tool.
Vray to octane and standart to octane options are implementing. I'll complete until beta period. Most octane features are implemented, some needs more work. Like instances, they works except groups.

A Vray to Octane material converter?
This is awesome news for us, we have a LOT of older Vray assets and are still getting a lot of Vray assets from other studios, such a feature would really help a lot for a smooth complete transition to Octane.

And yea I can understand that you have a passion for C++, once you got familar with it can be an awesome and highly flexible programming language.
Btw. any ETA yet when you guys will announce the participants of the closed beta test?

yes, if you watch last video, you'll see that i changed some materials to octane with a click. it converts and replace old one while rendering.
i think there is too much brilliant people to point. this weekend may be good to finish :)

Ooh I see, I didn't notice it was a conversion from vray. Very awesome!

And true, there is a lot of interest for the C4D plugin :)

super, great to hear about the mat conversion !!!

how about texture projection (cube/spherical/uv/cylindric/etc) , texture mixing (decals), using of selection tags, etc... ?

uv's working except frontal, in respect of decals may be very complicated conversion. right now that's not working
