Hi. I have not seen this error before. Does it happen for you on every scene, or just one?

Whoop!

What do i win for breaking it?

First up I think the plug in is a solid piece of work. (you might want to have a word with your equiv on Sketch up side) Please don't bring the node strucure to revit plug in. it terrifies architects.

It is the render engine Revit has been missing. We're dropping our fbx-max-Vray workflow. Titans all round!

Can wait to see where 3.0 takes us.

As for the crash,

The file is a large revit model but not massive. 7227897 tri, 8 rgb & 8 grey LDR textures. about 1gb of memory.

Proxys for the majority of the furniture. Although there are probably about a 500 instances of revit chairs as family. This started after furniture was added. So think it maybe linked to this. checked the revit family and the geometry is clean.

Loads fine for the most part. load time :58 seconds on a Xeon E5-1620 3.7 with gtx 980.

I sometimes get this error when I reload the geometry. its not view dependent.

The only way I can resolve is to restart my machine. the old tried and tested.

Exiting and reopening Octane still same.
Exiting Revit and eopening same.

Let me know if you need any more info.

cheers

Thanks for the metrics - very useful. With Octane 2 you will hit a triangle limit at about 10 million. This limit is planned to be removed in Octane 3 according to Otoy.

However I think the actual issue could be a time-out issue processing the large number of instanced chairs.

Firstly, install Octane Standalone (the .exe not the .zip). This will ensure the Windows Nvidia driver time-out is set correctly. This may resolve the issue. If not try opening the Viewport with the resolution set to 200x200, and Kernel set to Direct Lighting.

Also, if you have overclocked your card, back it off to normal.

Let me know how you go.
