2.10 Texture Problems

Postby ebanta11053 » Sat Sep 27, 2014 2:30 am

Hi Paul,

I downloaded version 02.10.0.11 today. I have a problem with materials when "loading from default". If I have a texture attached to a material I get the following message:

OctaneErrorRenderingScence:unable to open "T...(4 characters)"for reading.

I deleted 2.10 and went back to version 2.6.0.9 and everything works fine. I love the features and speed of 2.10.0.11- great job- just can't use it if I can't save textures on materials. Any idea of what might help?

Thanks

Hi - I couldn't reproduce this error. Could you try rebooting, and then re-downloading and installing the 2.10 version (just to ensure if was not a corrupt download, or some other external factor). If you continue to get the error - could you pls post a screenshot of the error screen.

Thanks

Paul,

I rebooted and downloaded 2.1 again. I'm not really sure how to post a screenshot. I attached a .png file- maybe that'll get through. In any case, things got worse. Can't assign material and Octane is crashing Revit.

Thanks - it looks like an installation problem. Is it possible you were running Revit when you installed the plugin?

Can you pls post a screenshot of the Activation tab, and also post a copy of the Octane Log window (available from the Devices tab).

Thanks

Paul,

I shut down the system, deleted the installation and downloads. I then re-downloaded the Revit 2.1 zip and installed. Still having the same issues. I've included the log file and activation tab. I've also included a screenshot of what happens when I try to import render target.

Again, all this is working in 2.06 (which is great by the way).

Sorry for the problems you are both experiencing. I haven't been able to re-produce the error, however I found a potential code issue, which I have corrected in the version below. Can you pls let me know if this fixes your issue? The installer is for Revit 2014.

Would it be possible to send me a simple scene which reproduces this problem pls?

Thanks

EDIT: I just installer from the installer I posted, and it is worked as intended. Would you also be able to provide the journal file from the crash, and let me know where it crashed pls.
