its 12:37 AM and I am playing with Octane...

here is an old model I did for a project awhile ago, I took the model and modeled some interrior in it, altough it has a weird shape like a tall roof and goofy front end I wanted the details to be as close as real as possible if it were to be made a functioning car, but its just a work in progress so pardon the mess :)

oh btw I couldnt get the specular material do reflect anything... including the HDRI, and I found some HDRI images just takes longer to calculate/ render ? I am using studio HDR from Octane

I am guessing that the different render times could be down to the sizes of the HDRs or the complexity of them, I could be wrong though.

Oh, and the Tyres look a bit flat ;) Raise the car model or lower the floor a little bit :)

The reason some hdri takes longer to render can be many, as almost every difrence does affect it in some way.
And from what i can see the hdri gets reflected, but since it's a studio hdri there will be very soft white reflections, try using one with more shapes in if you realy want to see the diffrence :)

Model and render looks quite good, could be more interesting with some wood floor and maybe some lego bricks to show the scale of the car, and some cool depth of field :)

there is no air pump function in Octane... :), I changed the angle and tried again to make some reflection on the window but no luck... I can raise the refraction value but that would distord anything inside the car... maybe I can get help on this ? I changed the floor to something to indicate the scale of the scene, I am still working on finishing the model of this car btw

Check for
- Wrong facing normals on your glass
- Glass without thickness
- IOR value should be around 1.4 /1.5
- Are you using path tracing ?
- If you use directlighting does the specular depth + glossy depth are bigger than 1 ?

Or maybe its because it has nothing to reflect :?
