nice but remove the phong tag ... or smooth tag in octane render .
but this is low poly if you remove the smooth the polygon will be visible ,so for that you need to increase the polygon count with hyper nurbs or just more subdivision ;)

Is that how you go about fixing it? I couldn't disable smooth shading on that specific material because the highlights were all faceted. I tried to go with a higher Sub-D by my application would choke on it. So I take it by "splitting" it, you mean add some more edge loops in there? I'll give that a shot.

it depends on the 3d app you use, in blender it's a 'edgesplit' modifier.
beta2 will allow more options in this area.
