In Modo you can spend an age tweaking the irradiance cache values to try and eliminate splotchy renderings! In most case in doing so results in quite long render times anyway, plus it's not always guaranteed...

This latest version came in @ 50s, I wanted to do a quick render as I wanted to add a little post processing...

Samartin,

that's one beautiful rendering -makes me want to model a plane too lol. I totally agree with you about the Modo statement too!

Thanks Son,

Good to see you over here, I admire your works, well I've only seen the Toad sculpt you did and the UV mapping tut, you should get more work out there ;) Once OR has displacements (maybe SSS) then you should get that puppy rendered.

I'm going to do a video based on the last image that will show the pipeline for getting the render into Photoshop and processed, I'll drop it into Vimeo sometime soon.

The video is private (I do have a vimeo account) but it would be nice to put it public for the others ;)

Thanks guys/gals,

Sorry about the audio quality, my mic is maxed out and I'm using 20% gain out of a max of 30% gain! The mic is an old Philips MD110, it appears that I really need a pre-amp to boost it! When I listen back I'm using headphones so it's not so hard to hear what I'm saying, however I tried it on my laptop and I couldn't hear anything through the internal speakers!!!

I hope it doesn't ruin the experience that much, have to say that I hate the sound of my own voice, I sound really nasally but hey ho. It's nice to try and give something back to the community...

Great model but its to clean for a jetfighter. You might need to paint in 3d to make the whole model parts unique. Wear and tear, Carbon burns, heat and paint variations would make it stunning.

And some graphical labels here and there to jazz it up
i7 920 2.66ghz quad core, gtx 285, asus p6t, 6gb OCZ 1600mhz ram, Windows 7 64bit ultimate. Nvidia cuda Driver v3 Nvidia display drivers V193.13. Octane beta 2
