render viewport stays black

Hello,

This issue concerns octane 4. I know it is a very old version but maybe octane experts can still help.

I changed my computer recently and the plugin does not work anymore. I use the same graphic card, the same poser version, the same octane version and the same plugin option. Octane standalone works fine but not the poser plugin. The plugin opens normally, but when I start to render the samples/pixel and MSamples/sec values stay at 0/0. I can select the materials in viewport and in the material tree but the viewport stays black. If I export the scene in octane standalone, it works fine. In this example the scene is just the default poser scene.

Thanks for your help

octane version 4.05
poser plugin version 4.05.097
poser version 11.3.818
OS Windows 11
graphic card GTX 1080 Ti (driver version 551.76)
RAM: 128GB

I think it is going to be pretty hard to get Octane 4 running with current graphics card and the latest Nvidia drivers.

What does the Octane Log button in the Cuda Devices tab show please?

Thanks

Thanks for your reply.

I attached the log and the device settings. There is an error in the log because I think it tries first to deal with my RTX4090. When I disable my RTX 4090 in the Windows device manager, there is no more error but the plugin still does not work.

Again, the exact same scene works in octane standalone so I believe it comes from the plugin itself.

Which version of Octane Standalone are you running please?

Thanks

OK, thank you. I think you will need to escalate this issue to OTOY via the Support menu at the top of this screen. My feeling is that your Nvidia drivers are too recent to work with such an old version of Octane, however it is odd that Octane Standalone works.
