How to remove these creases

Is there any way or settings that I can use to smoothen out these creases? I have a flat plane with a lot of polygons. Most likely 5,000. That is a figure with eight bones. I tried to edit the sub-division to five. But no go(See attached and disregard the magnet effect on the tip).

Is there a setting I can use to smooth the surface out?

Thanks

I would suggest rendering out the Normals render passes, so that you can check that the normals on the mesh are not somehow messed up. In general issues like this a caused by incorrect normals in the mesh.

Thanks
