Question: any idea on when those lights will be implemented?

As I understand it they offer less noisy lighting, which is certainly something I would be interested in. Also, are there any drawbacks to using the Analytic and Directional lights as opposed to the existing lighting options?
None of the Octane Light types are implemented in the plugin. The Poser plug was developed prior to Light types being implemented in Octane - so the plugin design does not really cater for these items (it instead creates emitter geometry to replicate the Poser light, but there is no way to adjust the specific Octane emitter properties). There is no easy way to attach the Octane Light item pins to a Poser light. Ideally, all the Poser scene lights would be listed in the Material List on the Materials tab of the plugin, and you could tweak and adjust the light pins as you currently do the materials. So in summary, I don't think these lights will be supported by the plugin in the near future.

I am sorry to hear that.

Silly question maybe ...
In previous versions there was an option, to set the "Render AOVs" to "Render passes" and in there, enable/disable the passes we wanted to get over into in the "Viewport" (or not).
(The long list of render passes, we could choose from)

and in the Viewport, using the drop down, to display them there

In newer versions this might have changed, as there isn't a "Render passes" option anymore.

I might have overseen it, but is there a way, I can get all the passes, I want to see, back into the Viewports drop down menu again, please?
Thanks.

Hi Erick

I cannot reproduce that issue - it's working as per the previous release for me. I wonder if I messed up the installer somehow. Can you try this version please?

Hi Paul,

thanks for having a look.
The other installer for 2023.1.2.122 didn't change anything for me.

I think I noticed this behavior quite a while back already, but forgot about it, as I at one point exported the rendertarget setting I once used (as a *.por file) from an old scene and re-using it ever since (still today).
So, when with todays version, I import the old rendertarget settings (the *.por file), the Render AOVs - Render Passes, are showing up again.
Switching to a different Render AOV (like Ambient Occlusion AOV, Baking AOV ..etc ..) and then wanting to go back to the "Render Passes", it's gone again from the menu.

After the import of the old settings (*.por file) into the latest version (2023.1.2.122:

Switching back and forth between the Render AOVs: Render Passes are gone again:

Maybe at one point, the OR devs switched up this system, and I just didn't catch it =D

If you rightclick the rendertarget and "Load from Default" does it fix the issue?

I can't, as it's greyed out for me. Looks like I don't have a default RT file.
Saving a default file is possible.

I understand. I think this version should resolve the issue. Can you please confirm?

Looking good so far.
Render AOVs -> Render passes are all visible again.
