Texture Environment image size

Might be a dumb question but I'll take the hit of looking silly... is there a 'correct' or 'ideal' size for the images we use for the Texture Environment? I know I have a bunch of different size HDR images and I can never tell if they are wrapping properly inside the magic sphere. With the latest test version of the plugin I see we can now scale the image so I'm wondering if there is a perfect size image or if it just doesn't matter.

I'm pretty sure there is never a need to scale the image. The extents of the image represent 360 degrees. Keep in mind that Octane needs LatLong IBLs. Although there might be some tricks to using Spherical maps with the new projection system in 1.24. If using 1.24, use Global Coordinates for the IBL Projection.
