yeah, looks really amazing.

so you create the hair in 3DS, export it as OBJ to Poser an put it there on a figure's head?

Chopper, is this easier or same as doing it with zbrush? And does this work better and doesmit look more realistic? My only proble with zbrush is that if I usebthe Goz export the hair looks like a bunch of flat planes, wnen I export it as a obj thenhair is much thinner and dense than it is in zbrush, which forces me to increase the density which increases render times.

If you vote for "Hair and Fur" (http://render.otoy.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=9&t=37045), then potentially the Poser dynamic hair strands will be able to be rendered as vertex stands by Octane.

It's easier with hair farm. The simple fact that is a dedicate package just for creating hair.
You have quite a few big motion VFx house is that use it for films.

The Hobbit Lord the rings ETC

Undoubtedly you could probably get the same results from Z Brush. At a very cheap price. But as the old saying goes you get what you pay for.

Hair Farm 2 Ultimate -- $899.95 OR or the basic version

Of course high-quality objects at a higher density will increase your render time.

But I always Said quality over quantity.

Personally I couldn't care less if it takes me 25 hours to render a picture the quality is the important part (to me anyway)

On a personal note if you have a look around deviant art. (You will see certain people producing poser octane renders) and outputting a character every day.

I see really no point in doing that myself. I would rather work the 24 hours straight on a one good render rather than half decent renders.

(Or you can do the old trick. Render your character first. Then second render the your hair. (Then splice it together with photo shop)

In theory it is less of render time a little bit more complex.

I was kind of down when I saw hair farm $300 off that just ended.. I was wondering if anyone had a pipeline they used for HairFarm. I just really would like to hear if there is way to get a good render without having the perfect light setup in 3ds max.

You don't need a perfect light set up in 3-D studio Max to you really. Use hair farm.

I basically just do the following. get the hair in 3-D studio Max and get a rough idea what it looks like.

Then export it as a 3-D mesh out to poser. It's basically a simple as that
