The Octane Plug In is Massively Slowing Down Daz Studio

So, I noticed that applying poses in Daz Studio was slow... I tracked down a lot of things and tried a few things, so spare me the time and actually pay attention.

Clothing with props become tremendously slow to pose with the Octane plug in. This is an Octane plug in issue.

Specifically, if you load clothes, and pose a figure its 'instantaneous' to pose. If the clothes have props attached, the pose time goes through the roof. Pose time becomes minutes, not seconds. A lot more clothes these days have props attached, like shirts with buttons. Pose time is much much worse if more JCMs are involved.

In one render, this outfit loaded with props takes over 4 minutes to pose. If I disable Octane, restart Daz, and apply the same pose, its instantaneous. There are no texture updates going on.

This is significant... Octane renders faster than I can pose a figure...

Is there a work around?

Any clothing with anchors on it, such as the gems and book in this case, could be unparented (right-click the item in the scene tab) from the genesis figure. That should speed up your posing. When you're ready to render just parent the clothes back to the figure. Animations will probably been an issue though.

This is behavior I've noticed also just to clarify.

I just tested this and this seems to be the case. To be more specific, items with rigid follow nodes slow down posing and morphing while the octane plugin is active.

Paul, are you able to look into this?

I can confirm that I'm experiencing this in plugin v4.4.0.44 and DAZ Studio v4.12

Sorry to be blunt, but i didn't realize people were still trying to get real-time response from the Daz plugin. My original intent was for a render engine, hence its own viewport. Setup scene, adjust materials that are not automatically converted, pose figure, animate, test render and adjust environment, then final.
Not having direct access to the geometry during manipulation has always been a issue. The Alemic data is accessed at a very fast rate but there will be an inherit delay.

Well, this happens even if you aren't rendering, and it's only if the figure has rigid follow nodes while posing.

Are there other items that have this effect, i don't have the one suggested and wanted to do a quick test.

For instance the choker for this: https://www.renderosity.com/mod/bcs/?ViewProduct=135874 dress causes the same slow down (testing with plugin v4).

Most modern outfits with buttons or dangly bits should have them. I know the vendor mada uses them a lot.
