Hi guys

I think that hide to camera and shadows doesn't work if the object is behind a specular material.
A third option would be needed and that would be "hide to refraction" I think.
This is related to the engine itself, am I right?

Regards,
Mac

the "problem" appear with glass. Take a look to the images. The first is with glass on the windows. The second is without glass.
In the first one I can see hdri and the plane (or the reflection of the plane?) on the exterior scene
In the second one I can see the background (as expected)
(light: hdri - background: RGB white)
Thanks for providing the file. The reason you are having this issue is because you have Camera Visibility OFF for the ground plane, however the image you see in the window is probably actually a shadow. You need to delete the ground plane, or turn on camera visibility and set the Opacity of the ground plane material to 0.

Hi paul,
The image I see is not a shadow.
If I delete the ground plane or I set the opacity to 0 I can't receive the indirect light of the plane.

I'd like to have the indirect light of the ground plane but I don't want to see it trough the windows.

bye

I think you are asking for something which is not possible in a physically accurate renderer. The ground plane is either there, or not there, not there for only certain objects.

Hi Paul,
Yes, my request is a bit strange. Anyway I used maxwell for a while. Maxwell is phisically accurate too but take a look at this:

P.s. I love octane very very much and for me it's the best render engine ;-)

Bye
