Feature Suggest: Enveloping Update scene / materials etc

Hi,

Most of the scenes I have to render I have to render them with full updates or materials etc. But the parts of the animation that actually need this are mostly only a few frames (like making parts transparant or parts with instances etc).

So I was thinking, why not envelope the render settings? This can save a lot of time on overnight renders, time that can be used for extra quality etc.

What do you think?

Hi,

This sounds easier than it is in reality ;) ... Changing these core render settings without fully restarting the rendering is not possible in a lot of cases. For example, the code used to update the scene can't jump to fully reload it without clean the Octane scene and restart the rendering from scratch.

RenderQ could help in these cases, but well, you must save a copy of the scene with each frame range and render settings.

In any case, I'll think about it.

Thanks,

Thanks for taking it in mind :)
I know things are more easely said than done, but still... in coding... everything is possible right? :D time is the only factor.

But really, hypothetically it could save a lot of time on renders
