installing 3.07 on lw11.6 (win10)

Trying since hours now to install the newest octanerender plugin for lightwave version 3.07 but all the time I get the error "Plugins were not found or could not be added.)
I tried as administrator and to install them from different folders (bin/plugins). Plugin, octane.dll and octane.dat files are always in the same folder. It´s a fresh lw11.6.3 install (and new windows 10 update) All old octaneplugins are deleted from lw. My firewall is not blocking lightwave and the lw folder is not write protected. At this point I really have no idea what else I could try.

Does anyone here has an Idea?

Hi,

Perhaps the problem is related to the Visual C++ 2015 redistributable package. In a whole new system perhaps it is not installed. Download the file "vc_redist.x64.exe" from this link and install it:
https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/downloa ... x?id=53587

If after installing the redistributable you can't install the plugin, please let me know to further investigate.

Thanks,
-Juanjo

will confirm tomorrow but I think this is the exact same configuration I use at the office. 11.6.3, win10 and 3.07 (waiting patiently for 3.08 and 2018, that's been sitting for 21 days now :( )

So should work! Hopefully you get it figured out.

PS: I know it's not your fault Juan, just frustrated, since I didn't upgrade to 2015, can't use my new toys...lol.
