I generally use Lightwave on OS X with both TFD and Octane. But I've not had the need to use them together until now. I do have Lightwave on a Windows PC, but without TFD or Octane plugins installed.
I checked many (if not all) the posts on how to set up Octane to use TFD cache data, including all of Juanjgon's. It all makes sense if I was doing it on a Windows machine, but there is not ONE post on setting this up under OS X.
I would like to do it on OS X if possible since that would better fit my workflow.
When I open the Octane plugin options and set the path to the TFD plugin
(/Applications/NewTek/LightWave3D_2015.3/support/plugins/TurbulenceFD_LW_v1-0_1416/TurbulenceFD_1416.plugin)
there is no "TFD_loader_64.p" file, since .p files are a Windows only plugin type.
On OS X the plugin is called "TurbulenceFD_1416.plugin".
But using that path, IPR crashes every time, and if I try to do a frame-render F9, I get the error message,
TDF library not found in "/Applications/NewTek/LightWave3D_2015.3/support/plugins/TurbulenceFD_LW_v1-0_1416/TurbulenceFD_1416.plugin"
The frame-render then proceeds and I get everything rendered BUT the TFD effect.
So does TFD & Octane in Lightwave only work on Windows?
