Non Round Fiber FX

Would like to play with Fiber FX hair as Grass...but with hero super close shots...doesn't look quite right being circular. Any way to squeeze the hairs to an ellipse or even flat? What other work arounds do people look at for grass?

For closeups definitely instanced grass models.

These are my test renders with instanced grass + world scale texture + Octane render.

Yes, currently in Octane the hair fibers are cylinders. We only can control the fiber width. For grass, instancing could be a better solution.

Yes that does look quite nice! Well done.

I'm guessing your saying "world texture" meaning you are using a texture node that changes the color and possible other properties in world coords, not just each blade? Does look very organic.
