I need support how i can use Vertex normal map

My mesh item is coverted from CAD data but it contained Vertex normal map(Surface normal)

Vertex normal map help to smoothing from multiple point polygon from tesselated cad data.

LW is surpport vertex normal map.(Check Pic1,2!)

Octane support too but very weird! (Check Pic3,4) It using octane render 2.0

I was expect octane will support "vertex normal map" when upgrade ver 2.0 but still weird.

How or when i can using "vertex normal map" in octane render?

Can you please send to me this object to test it here? ... I don't need whole object if this is a problem, only a part of it that can show the problems you have.

You can send it to me to [email protected]

You are right. There is a bug in the vertex normal maps code. It is fixed now. You can download a custom build with the bug fixed below (it is a build for LW 11.6 Win x64, if you need it for other system, please let me know. You only need to replace your plugin .p file with this new one)

http://render.otoy.com/customerdownload ... 2.0_11_6.p

Thanks for report it.

Yo DD, get used to it... You are new, and likely unaware of this, and Juanjo is way too modest to say it himself, but he completely kicks ass.. he is The Uber Dev. :ugeek: He will be rockin' your world often. You picked a pretty wonderful combo of Octane and LW. Welcome to the party. ;)
