Octane with LW 2018

Good morning everyone.

So I am wondering if someone can help me with a few things.

First of all, using the new Octane build for lightwave 2018 I don't know how to get the export to be saved as an EXR that looks the same as the IPR & Render Window. I have it the way I want it to look but when I open the EXR in AfterEffects it does not look the same. (Using either tone mapped or un-toned). That's the major hurtle right now. I was excited to get Octane for LightWave 2018 but at the moment I am still using the 2015 and the 3.06.0.5 Build of Octane. I know that works very well but I'd like to be using the latest versions of both software packages.

Second, can someone explain to me why an EXR file is so darn big?

Thanks guys!

Do you have any specifics as to how it looks different? Screenshots would help as well. One issue could be that the IPR window is showing a gamma of 2.2, and your EXR is linear at 1.0 (are your images looking washed out?)

Okay so I found out the problem exists when I load a .lws created with 2015 and Render it in 2018.
See attached image.
The one on the right side is what I want, the one on the left is what I get when I render in 2018.

Any help guys?

It seems a gamma issue to me. Are you exporting the EXR files using the passes node in both versions? If the problem is only related to the IPR, perhaps you have some of the LW color settings enabled, or something like that ... it is hard to say.

Thanks,

Well that doesn't really help :?
Any chance the new version you released could help with this?

PS It's the IPR & F10 Renders.

Hmm, and do you have this problem only loading the Octane EXR images in AE? I'm checking the EXR tonemapped rendered files and they look the same that the IPR. Perhaps you have some kind of color profile, color correction or gamma correction enabled in AE, that is affecting the loaded EXR images.

Thanks,
-Juanjo
