Solo Node and tonemapping

Solo Node is currently taking into account frame buffer exposure and tonemapping - shouldn't these be ignored?

working on an image where exposure is +11 which means that if i solo a node it's way too bright

You are correct. I am not sure there is a simple fix for this, sorry.

so exposure can't be temporarily switched to 1 while Solo Node is on?

If that is the only change you need, I can do that in the next release.

Hi - does this "test" version of the next release of the plugin do what you are looking for?

https://render.otoy.com/customerdownloads/plugins/27/b2/0a/6c/OctaneRender_for_Modo15-16_2022_1_2_192_STUDIO_test2.exe

2022.1.2.192
- Compiled with Octane 2022.1.2
- Fixed issue were Mesh Lights were not exporting to ORBX correctly
- When saving a render as PNG, if sRGB is selected as the Color Space, then Pre-Multiplied Alpha can now still be specified. To do this, select EXR, then tick Pre-Multiplied Alpha, then select PNG. NOTE: According to the PNG spec, PNG files always use non-premultiplied alpha, so save with pre-multiplied alpha at your own risk!
- Added Cast Photons to the Octane Enivorments as per Octane 2022.1.2
- When Solo Node is enabled, the Imager->Exposure is set to 1

Regarding Modo14...the Octane plugins are released for the current 3 versions of the host app (so Modo16, 15 and 14 at the moment). However Modo17 will be released soon (if not already), and at that point Modo14 will no longer be support by the Octane plugin. So I would highly recommend upgrading your Modo version.

Thanks

appreciate the suggestion Paul

MODO releases have provided very little reason for me to upgrade so i'll consider MODO 17 if and when it does come out

i understand that Octane 4 MODO will continue to work in MODO 14 until 17 is out

It will, although I am not doing test builds for Modo14. I will do the final Octane 2022.1.2 build in a week or two, and there will be a Modo14 then.

Thanks
