OOC and brute force - egpu's

I am noticing in my own subjective testing, with 3 cards (2 3090's, 1 4090) turning off RTX acceleration is not causing a major slow down - the time difference is totally acceptable - I am in a rare position to buy a RTX 6000 Ada generation card with 48 gigs of vram, which will keep me out of OOC, but would it actually be smarter to spend the money on a second 4090 and brute force my way through scenes using more cards and OOC?
