Octane Assemblies

Hey there,

sometimes i want to make a assembly from a bunch of octane nodes. In some cases it is not possible to connect this assembly to the matching input of another node.
For example I wanted to make an assembly to set up a composite layer. The assembly output can't be connected to the composite Texture Layer inputs.

Would be very cool, if this was possible

This has been implemented in the next release.

Thanks

Great!Would it be also possible to connect the string nodes to the image filepath input? At the Moment it's only possible to connect the string output of the imagefile

I think you can already do this. Try plugin a Modo schematic string node (not the Octane String node) into a Modo Image Still Filename channel, which in turn plugs into the Octane RGB Image node Filename pin.

Thank you, that works! Can i spawn an empty image Still node or do i always need a dummy image to use this?

My goal is to have a string switch to switch between a few images easily

I'm not sure - sorry. You will need to experiment with the approach.
