Problem with References

Hi Paul,

we have some big problems when working with references in Modo together with Octane.
Importing Xrefs is not problem at all, Overrides are working, etc. But when we´re trying to delete the imported reference the Octane plugin produces crashes in 9 of 10 times.
When deleting, the OctaneRenderSetup window is poping up, all white, and than Modo crashes.
If we import the reference without shader and materials, Modo is not crashing while deleting the reference.
This is big problem for us, as we are working on large scale projects with various team sizes. We need to be able to work with references.

Do you have any idea what´s causing the crash?
I´m attaching the commandLog. Don´t know if that helps.

Best,
Lucas

Modo will not let me delete a reference item at all, so I could not test this. Are you able to provide a detailed set of instructions which allows me to reproduce this issue pls?

Thanks

Edit to the above....I was able to load and then delete a reference scene if the reference scene was saved the same version of modo that it was being loaded into. However I couldn't reproduce in crash. Which version of the plugin and Modo are you using pls?

Thanks

Hi Paul,

thanks for the reply. Normally we´re are using all the same version of Modo.
Anyway it could be that in some cases there are version differences.

I´m going to send you a test scene vie mail, that is crashing on our systems.
I saved both files in Modo 10.2, Octane 3.04.4
Could you have a look into it?

Thanks

I have sometimes found that duplicating the reference via the item list (right-click, duplicate hierarchy) will then break the reference connection and allow you to delete both the original reference and the copy.
You should not have octane active when you do this, I would recommend being in the model layout for example.
