Hi all

We're happy to bring you RC 3 of 2022.1. We are expecting this to be the last RC before stable, unless any significant issues are found.

Thank you to everyone who has tested the XB and RC releases.

Changes since 2022.1 RC 2

  • Fixed OSL compilation being very slow especially in large scenes.
  • Fixed spotlight not working when camera is inside the cone, when nested dielectrics is disabled.
  • Alpha image textures now default to linear sRGB, not sRGB when loaded.
  • Fixed grayscale images being compressed as if they were "redscale". Please note that if you were having this problem, you may need to also clear the texture cache in preferences.
  • Fix coating normal rendering incorrectly on universal materials with no transmission

Dear all

For the Render Network cloud upload I see the URL malformed error has been fixed, thanks a lot!

We still are having issues with uploading complex scenes (eventually due to large OCS sizes).

Code: Select all
Started logging on 21.11.22 13:24:13

OctaneRender Enterprise 2022.1 RC 3 (12000009)

Error finalizing RNDR scene upload (HTTP Code 500): The server failed to process the request with HTTP code: 500

Happy to provide examples if required.

Can we get volumetric light like in this video [https://youtu.be/0rFxSJJF4tI?t=449]. Look at the cars passing by. There light has very dense volumetric light even though it doesn't look that foggy on the camera. Why cannot you add fog density to your regular lights Your volume light looks fake like a geometric cone. Thank you
