Wohoo no more crashes when closing down using 3xGTX670! :) And a couple of percent faster than 2.58E (maybe like 0.5% or something.. )

Thanx for the update!

Great update, just not yet clear on export out of DAZ. I was originally exporting out of DS at 1% custom and setting the obj import into Octane as meters. I now tried exporting out of DS at the DAZ export setting of 100% and import using the obj DAZ setting....figure is of course much bigger. I tried setting the DS export at 1% and choosing the DAZ import obj setting in octane and figure was just a bit bigger than the original settings I was using...1% export out of DS and meters obj setting for Octane.

Any DAZ folks can confirm the new export setting out of DS? Should it be 1% export still or the DS export of 100%?

Thanks!

Using either method produces acceptable output however here are the results with Octane set to Daz Scale.

First one was exported using D2O with scale set to 10 percent

Exported from D2O set to 10 percent

The second using daz export option at 100 percent

Using DS export at 100 percent

first one easier to manuver the camera than the second where as you will have to press shift to speedup your mouse movement, since it produces a much larger scale scene.

Note how large the scene is in comparison

Thanks, here is a WIP exported from DS4.5 at 1% and imported into 3.01 using the obj DAZ option....camera was easy to use so this might work.

Correct, the scene is definately larger, but in order to get the camera at the correct position you had to move it into place using the shift key. In the case of an animation this could/would be a nightmare. The current D2O option does allow you to scale the export from 1 - 100 percent. Will have to try a simple animation using the new octane setting and export at 100 percent to see what effect it will have with the exporter.

For instance in the scene posted above the cameras are loaded at the default positions as exported. Notice that in the daz export you are under the building and can see the corner block whereas the D2O you are inplace where the camera was in the scene. D2O has the advantage that it calculates where the camera should be loaded whereas the default export does not take into consideration the camera location.

by the way, i have good reason to believe ;) that the daz native unit is centimeter, so imo there doesn't need to be any "native" unit at all, since the .obj import dialog already handled centimeter-based meshes (whole different story with poser though)...
The obvious is that which is never seen until someone expresses it simply
