There's been a development of Hydra support for a while now. Finally we have commitments in the Blender 4.0 which add Hydra support.

I know addon development is hard and things are constantly changing. But what are your plans regarding this? Are you planning to benefit from Hydra support finally existing in Blender? Will it make addon development easier/harder for you?

We're currently maintaining and developing the non addon and addon versions of Octane 2022 and 2023 for Blender 3.6.1, and that's a lot of work already.

We'll see after 4.0 will be released.

Yeah, that's fair. I am just very excited about Hydra progress in different apps and development of Octane for Houdini Solaris. Hydra in Blender should provide easier access to the low level functions without messing too much with Blender licensing so it must be easier to integrate render addons in Blender.

But I was reading Blender dev logs and it looks like the Hydra development is far from final in Blender and needs further works so I guess I was excited prematurely. It'll most likely take a while for this development to finish fully. Maybe in Blender 4.1 if we're lucky.
